Our goal is to provide you with both custom furniture and a custom furniture experience, where, as in days of old, you know the craftsman on a personal level. Founded in 1995, Lighthouse Woodworking was created as an antidote to disposable mass production. Master craftsman Ron Light builds heirloom pieces from solid American hardwoods—including Pennsylvania black cherry, figured tiger maple, native white ash, walnut, and quartersawn white oak.
Every table, Windsor chair, and pencil-post bed begins with raw rough-sawn boards hand-selected for matching grain orientation and natural figure. Joined with blind mortise-and-tenons and hand-cut dovetails, each commission is completed with hand-rubbed Danish oils that sink deep into the pores, letting the wood breathe and patinate richer with each passing year.

Cut by Ron in the studio: blind mortise-and-tenon framing, hand-dovetailed corner drawers, and ergonomically contoured seats.

Hand-Rubbed Finish

Multiple coats of penetrating Danish oils and hand-applied lusters bring out the 3D luminescence of the wood grain without plastic sheens.
